On Jan. 28, Natuashish RCMP received a complaint of a man causing a disturbance at a medical clinic in the community.
Police located the man a short distance away from the clinic and approached him about the complaint.
The man struck one of the police officers with a blunt object and was taken into custody. The officer was taken for medical attention and was treated and released.
The 31-year-old man from Natuashish was brought before the court this morning, Jan. 29, and remains in custody at this time. He is facing a charge of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon.
