Hopedale man convicted of bootlegging booze in September charged again


Police also charge 39-year-old woman

HOPEDALE, NL – A man and woman from Hopedale have been charged with bootlegging alcohol in the town.

According to a news release from the Hopedale RCMP, police officers were conducting a separate investigation when they learned of the illegal activity.

Amos Abel, 28, and Vanessa Gauntlett, 39, are both scheduled to appear at court in Hopedale on Jan. 30, 2018.

Abel was previously convicted and fined for bootlegging alcohol in September of this year.
