The Happy Valley-Goose Bay Minor Soccer Association held its 28th annual soccer festival at Mealy Mountain Collegiate Sept. 12, as it wrapped up another successful season.

“We were really pleased with the turnout,” said Trevor Paine, co-president of the HV-GB MSA.

“We had about 50 per cent of our numbers, which was really good.”

The festival was a fun day for soccer players, coaches to end of the season, with not only many soccer games taking place for all age groups, but also a bouncy castle, tickets draws and a barbeque to round out the day’s activities.

Paine noted with the HV-GB MSA all-stars, Shriners, and Lab Cup junior and senior events done for another year, it’s time to focus on the upcoming Subway winter indoor training program.

He added the HV-GB MSA will also be planning its AGM for March of 2016 and encourages people to think about getting involved.

“We’re always looking for new people to help,” he said.
