HV-GB RCMP continues its investigation into a motor vehicle collision that happened shortly after midnight on May 21, just 15 kilometres outside of HV-GB.

Sergeant Paul MacDougall said a local business was broken into and a 2007 Ford F-350 Pick-up truck was stolen.

The vehicle was later recovered after it left the road and rolled into the ditch, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle.

RCMP arrested James Scott Goudie, 40, at the scene and he was charged with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, breach of probation, breach of a recognizance and impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and was remanded to custody until his appearance in Provincial Court on May 22.

Sgt. MacDougall said he couldn't release the results of Mr. Goudie's breathalyzer samples, as the investigation is ongoing.

At the time of the accident four other persons were in the vehicle and were sent hospital but later released with minor injuries.

The names and ages of the occupants couldn't be released due to the ongoing investigation.
