Whitbourne RCMP arrested an impaired driver whose blood alcohol level was found to be four times the legal limit Friday.

Police were notified of a vehicle being driven erratically on the Trans Canada Highway this morning. The vehicle and it’s 41-year-old driver were stopped just east of Hodgewater Line.

The Kilbride resident now faces charges of impaired driving and will appear in court in early July.

The traffic stop comes during Canada Road Safety Week, which focuses on high-risk driving behaviours including impaired driving.

RCMP encourage anyone who suspects a motorist is impaired behind the wheel to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-8477, visiting nlcrimestoppers.com, or by texting TIP190 and your message to 274637.
