HV-GB officer being investigated ADAM RANDELL The Labradorian
The Major Crimes Unit from Gander and Corner Brook are conducting an investigation into a Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP Officer.
The investigation is pertaining to allegations of assault by an officer who was off-duty at the time.
Sergeant Wayne Newell, media relation's officer for the RCMP, said the investigation is still ongoing and it could be sometime before anything is determined.
"It's still ongoing, it's going to take sometime to get witness accounts together and get a decision on whether or not charges will be laid," Sgt. Newell said.
No other details were released surrounding the incident.
