Canadian Parents for French NL award for Arnold’s Cove student

Andrew Flint of Arnold’s Cove is the Canadian Parents for French – Newfoundland and Labrador (CPF-NL) student of the year.

Flint, a core French student, is learning the language by distance eduction. He is the only student taking the course in his school.

The award was one of three CPF-NL provincial awards for 2017 presented at Government House in St. John’s on June 9.

Ashley Barrett of St. John’s was chosen at this year’s teacher graduate of the year while Lisa MacArthur of Corner Brook was selected teacher of the year.

“We are so proud of the accomplishments of the award recipients,” CPF- NL president Elaine Huxter said in a press release.

“By promoting it, learning it, speaking it and teaching it, they have demonstrated a passion for French. We thank and acknowledge them for helping to advance French Second Language education in the province.”

Flint has been accepted into the Faculty of Engineering at Memorial University this fall.
