Grand Falls-Windsor fire crews are battling a fire at Iislander RV Tuesday evening.

Grand Falls-Windsor first responders are busy Tuesday evening battling a blaze at the Islander RV location close to the Trans Canada Highway.

Details are limited but the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor has issued a plea to residents to stay clear of the area to allow emergency crews to perform their duties.

“Citizens are asked to stayed away from the Islander RV area due to a major fire there. Fire crews are on the scene. Please stay away from that area and let emergency crews do their work there,” an emailed notice stated.

The business sells a wide variety of recreational vehicles, Equipment and clothing.

Fire Chief Vince McKenzie noted on Twitter that the provincial 911 phone system is down and anyone with an emergency in Grand Falls-Windsor is asked to call 709-489-2222.
