A little cold rain didn’t stop Team Pepsi and Team Lewis from heading into their eighth inning during the ladies softball final on the evening of Sept. 26. The teams had battled it out for the seven regular innings with Lewis gaining one in the sixth inning only to have Pepsi tie it up and the same thing repeated itself in the seventh inning. The women played there hardest with team Lewis’ Sherry Bessey hitting the only over-the-fence home rum of the game. It was the first final for team Lewis in three seasons and coach Jackie Compton Hobbs said the game was so good, it didn’t matter who won.

Ultimately Team Pepsi scored the final run in the eighth inning to take the title.

It was game number five in a best of seven series.
