The Girls Under-12 All-Stars took home gold in the ‘D’ division from their tournament in Corner Brook from Aug. 19-22. Emily Snow and Samantha Broomfield scored the teams goals as Happy Valley-Goose Bay took a 2-1 victory over Conception Bay South B. Special awards were presented to Gabrielle Best for MVP, Alyssa Chiasson for MSP and Malaika Oguantuse for Hard Hat.
The Boys Under-14 All-Stars took home gold from their tournament in Paradise during the weekend of August 12 - 14. With fifteen teams in the tournament, competition was tough. After the crossovers were completed, Happy Valley – Goose Bay was placed in a strong “C” division playing against the top ranked ASIA team from St. Pierre for the gold medal. The game was a real nail biter with spectators on the edge of their seats as the game was tied after regulation time and double overtime. Happy Valley - Goose Bay excelled in the shoot out, winning the gold medal.
Award recipients include: Most Valuable Player - Jordan Head, Most Spirited Player - Matthew Wall, and Hard Hat Award - Harry Lucci.
The boys under 16’s took home silver from their tournament from Aug. 5 - 7. The team won the first three games and went into the championship game undefeated, but lost to Portugal Cove-St. Phillips with a score of 2-1. Special awards were presented to Jared Pilgrim for MVP, Zachary Snelgrove for MSP and Martin Lavallee for Hard Hat.
