The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has concluded its investigation into an apparent stabbing Aug. 22 without an explanation of the incident or any charges laid.

A release issued this afternoon states police and rescue officials were called to the area on Freshwater Road at about 9:20 on a Friday morning. They found a 36-year-old man who appeared to have been stabbed. He was taken to hospital, treated and released.
The RNC says the wounded man refused to speak with police about the incident or about who might have caused the injuries. Police believe the two men know each other.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a stabbing incident on Freshwater Road in St. John's this morning.
According to a police spokesman, a man suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Although the victim sought help from an employee at Ches's restaurant, the RNC said the incident occurred further up Freshwater Road.
"The investigation is ongoing. Our initial concern was that he get medical treatment," the RNC spokesman said.
