Two men from the community of Sheshatshiu were arrested for impaired driving just 15 minutes apart from each other on May 30.
At 4:50 p.m. the Sheshatshiu RCMP received a complaint of an impaired driver heading towards Happy Valley-Goose Bay. After being located by the police, a 39-year-old man was arrested. According to the RCMP, the man had nearly two times the legal limit of alcohol in his body when he provided breath samples.
Approximately 15 minutes later, a 27-year-old man from Sheshatshiu was arrested after the RCMP received a report of an impaired driver near the Sheshatshiu school. According to the RCMP, the man had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his body upon providing breath samples.
Both men have been released from custody and will appear in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in July.
