A 34-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving early this morning on the province’s west coast after the vehicle she was driving hit a utility pole.

The Corner Brook RNC said the woman, a resident of Gillams, was arrested following the 2 a.m. incident.
The single vehicle collision occurred on O’Connell Drive near the intersection of Burnt Hill in Corner Brook.
The vehicle was travelling westbound on O’Connell Drive when it struck the utility pole. There were no injuries reported and the vehicle sustained moderate damage.
The woman was charged with impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood.
She was released from custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
