Dumaresque to challenge Dempster in Cartwright-L’Anse au Clair

Former Eagle River MHA Danny Dumaresque has announced that he will be seeking the Liberal candidacy for the Cartwright-L’Anse au Clair riding, a seat that is currently occupied in the House of Assembly by fellow Liberal Lisa Dempster.

The Liberal Party officially announced on May 2 that they are calling for nominations in the Labrador riding, along with the ridings of Carbonear-Harbour Grace and St. Barbe.

Nominations officially open at 12 p.m., May 2, and will remain open until 12 p.m., May 7.

Dumaresque told The Labradorian newspaper that he filed his nomination papers with Liberal headquarters on May 1.

    NO DANNY!!! NO!!! You should be supporting Lisa not trying to undermine her support or divide the liberals in her riding. The liberal party encourages participation, but this is the very type of back-stabbing that makes trusting you difficult and very likely the reason that you cannot win an election. Cartwright-L'Anse au Clair needs a proven winner as a liberal candidate, not a proven loser, stay in the backrooms Danny!
