A 30-year-old St. John's man charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a Carbonear woman and confinement, is due in Harbour Grace provincial court Wednesday for a bail hearing.

The man is facing 11 charges including break and entry, two counts of assault, two counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, possession of stolen property, driving while disqualified and failing to comply with a probation order.

A 30-year-old St. John’s man is facing numerous charges after a Carbonear woman reported Sunday she had been held against her will and sexually assaulted.

The RCMP says it received the complaint shortly after noon Sunday.

The woman told police the man was an acquaintance.

The accused is facing 11 charges including break and enter, two counts of assault, two counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, possession of stolen property, driving while disqualified and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused will not be identified to protect the identity of victims in the case.

He was held in custody to appear in Harbour Grace provincial court today.
