RNC investigating snowmobile fatality

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are investigating a fatal snowmobile accident which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, April 26 on the trail in the Southwest Arm east of Labrador City.

Breaking News

According to a statement from the RNC, a 911 call was received shortly before 3 a.m. concerning a 19-year-old male in a tragic snowmobile incident and was non-responsive.

The RNC, accompanied by Labrador West Ground Search and Rescue and paramedics from the Captain Jack William Memorial Hospital, responded to the scene where the Labrador City man was pronounced deceased.

The next of kin have been notified and the name of the deceased is being withheld out of respect for the family.

As the RNC investigates the cause of the incident anyone with information including details of events leading up to the incident is asked to contact the RNC immediately at 709-944-7602 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-282-8477 (TIPS).
