Two men arrested for impaired driving

The RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay arrested two men for drinking and driving during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

During the early morning hours of Sunday, March 16, The RCMP received an anonymous tip regarding an impaired driver.

Around 3:30 A.M. The RCMP located a 22-year-old male based on the tip. The man was arrested for impaired driving after providing breath samples.

At approximately 9 P.M. the same day, The Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP arrested a 49-year-old man for impaired driving, after responding to a report of a vehicle gone off the road.

The man, who was the driver of the reported vehicle, had an alcohol level nearly double the legal limit, according the RCMP.

Both men were released the same day of their arrest and will appear in court at a future date.
