POUCH COVE — “She’s a social butterfly,” words Tammy Curtis used to describe her eight-year-old daughter, Cassidy.

Cassidy Curtis (left) and her little sister Colbie proudly stand next to Cassidy’s poster for Canadian Blood Services.

Cassidy is a happy, healthy little girl who loves to play with her friends and do all the things other children her age like to do. It’s not the life her mother and father were told she would have when she was born via emergency caesarean section on Dec. 23, 2005.
