Driver facing impaired driving charges

a 26-year-old man from Sheshatshiu has been charged for impaired driving, more than three months after a single-vehicle car accident on Route 520
A 26-year-old man from Sheshatshiu has been charged for impaired driving, stemming from a car accident that occurred October 20 on Route 520.
“At approximately 04:40 am on October 20th, 2013 the RCMP from Happy Valley/Goose Bay and Sheshatshiu responded to a single motor vehicle accident approximately 20 km outside of Sheshatshiu,” states an RCMP press release.
“The vehicle, which had been traveling from Goose Bay to Sheshatshiu lost control and landed at the bottom of a steep embankment. One of the occupants was able to exit the vehicle on their own. The other occupant was extracted from the vehicle, by the Goose Bay Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.”
The 26-year-old man is being charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and impaired driving over 80 mg causing bodily harm. He will be appearing in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Provincial Court on March 25, 2014.
