Snowmobile operator facing impaired driving charges
A 43-year old man was arrested for impaired driving in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this past weekend, after his snowmobile collided with a motor vehicle.
“On the 1st day of February, 2014 at 5:16 pm, members of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay responded to a snowmobile and motor vehicle collision in the Blake Street and Lyall Street area of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL,” states an RCMP press release. “The driver of the snowmobile was arrested at the scene by police for impaired driving.”
The driver of the snowmobile was taken to hospital with minor head injuries, while the driver of the motor vehicle escaped without any injuries.
The estimated cost of the collision damage is over $1000.
The impaired snowmobile driver is facing several charges and will appear in Provincial Court at an undetermined date.
