Says he will continue to support Dunderdale

Minister of Education, Clyde Jackman speaks to a group of students at Lake Melville School.

Today, in an interview with The Labradorian, NL Minister of Education, Clyde Jackman, expressed surprise and disappointment at the news of MHA Paul Lane’s departure to the Liberal Party.

“It just caught me by surprise, I had no inkling that Paul was going to do this,” said Jackman.

“Paul has been one of them (outspoken supporters).”

Jackman was in North West River’s Lake Melville School this afternoon meeting with teachers and students as part of a school visitation tour in Central Labrador.

The Education Minister stated that Lane’s defection has not soured his own support of the PC Party and will continue to back Dunderdale as Premier.

“As a member of Premier Dunderdale’s cabinet and the Provincial Government…that’s where my loyalties lie,” said Jackman
