Meanwhile, there's a rainfall warning in effect for the Burin Peninsula area, with rainfall amounts of 25 to 35 mm expected by Friday morning.
This weather is the result of a low pressure system south of Cape Cod that will track northeastward today and will lie over eastern Newfoundland by Friday morning, before moving of to the northeast later on Friday.
A warm front ahead of this low will spread rain over southeastern Newfoundland this morning and will become heavy at times tonight before tapering off Friday morning.
Total rainfall accumulations are expected to be between 25 and 35 millimetres for the Burin and Connaigre peninsulas.
