Two locally-owned independent wholesalers got into the Christmas spirit this morning, by presenting a $3,000 donation to the local Food Bank at the Labrador Friendship Centre (LFC).

The money was raised through the Newfoundland and Labrador Wholesalers Charity Golf Tournament.

“This tournament has been going on for the last three years, on the island,” explained Andrew Warr of Multi Foods Ltd.

“Over this time, this event has donated over $50,000 to various non-profits across the province.

“This year, it was decided to donate some of the proceeds to Labrador.”

Paul Snelgrove, owner of Snelgrove Wholesale Ltd., said it is always nice to be able to help out a good cause.

“We like to help the community in any way we can,” he said.

Warr agreed.

“As local wholesalers, we wouldn’t be here without the support of the community, so we like to give back when we can.”
