UPDATE: Corner Brook man accused of trafficking cocaine

An 18-year-old man from Corner Brook was arrested Friday after St. Anthony RCMP seized cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia from a vehicle.

Michael Francis Flynn made an appearance by phone at Weekend and Statutory Holidays Court in St. John's Saturday morning. Judge James Walsh agreed to release the accused, who is scheduled to appear in St. Anthony Provincial Court on March 11, 2014.

Flynn, who turns 19 later this month, is charged with possession of a controlled drug or substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

According to an RCMP news release, a second man was pursued by police after he allegedly attempted to flee the scene by foot. Police eventually caught up with the man, who will face a charge of resisting arrest.

Police in St. Anthony have arrested two men following a drug bust on Friday.

RCMP seized cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia, according to a news release issued early Saturday morning. This after local police stopped a vehicle along a road on the Northern Peninsula.

One man has been charged with possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking. The second man reportedly attempted to run away but was caught following a foot chase. He will face a charge of resisting arrest.
