The Sheshatshiu RCMP detachment is investigating a report of a 25-year-old man making sexual advances towards a teenaged girl on Sunday.
The incident was alleged to have occurred earlier that morning at a home in Sheshatshiu. The man was arrested and is currently in custody. He was expected to appear before a judge this morning on charges of invitation to sexual touching, breaches of court orders and assaulting a police officer.
Also on Saturday, around 8:30 p.m., Sheshatshiu RCMP members on patrol along route 520 between Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Sheshatshiu, spotted an erratic driver.
The vehicle was stopped and a 21-year-old man from Sheshatshiu was arrested for impaired driving. The RCMP said breath samples showed a reading that was almost four times the legal limit.
The man has since been released and will appear in provincial court on Dec. 17, where he will face charges of impaired driving and and obstructing police.
