On October 20th, at approximately 02:00, the RCMP IN Nain, NL observed a vehicle being driven in the community in a reckless and dangerous manner. Complaints had also been received from the community concerning the same vehicle driving dangerous and that the driver may be impaired.
The RCMP conducted a traffic stop and the driver of the suspect vehicle collided with a police vehicle as he tried to flee from the police. The driver, a 26 year old man from the community was arrested and held in custody overnight. The man was later released from custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court on January 15th, 2014 where he will be facing a charge of impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
