An Air Canada flight from London, England, to Toronto was diverted to Happy Valley-Goose Bay Sunday morning due to a medical emergency.

The RCMP says it received a call at 11 a.m. Sunday from Woodward Aviation that Air Canada Flight 869 was being diverted.

The flight landed at Goose Bay where a 37-year-old man from Toronto was escorted off the plane and transported by ambulance to the hospital in Goose Bay for treatment of diabetic shock.

The passenger was admitted to hospital overnight for observation.
