Impaired driver arrested in L'Anse au Loup

A 42-year-old man from L’Anse au Loup was arrested by the RCMP Wednesday and charged with impaired driving.

According to police, a complaint of a possible impaired driver was received around 4:58 p.m. Wednesday. RCMP officers responded, going to Branch Road where the suspect vehicle was intercepted.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver arrested and charged. Police say the man driving the vehicle had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

The suspect was later released from custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
