A 55-year-old man from North West River in Labrador was charged Saturday night with impaired driving and having a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit.

The RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay made the arrest about 11:53 p.m. when they came upon the vehicle while responding to a separate complaint.

The vehicle was driving in an erratic manner on Hamilton River Road in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The man was released from custody on Sunday to appear in provincial court at a later date.
