DEER LAKE Town staff are working to fix the traffic lights on the Nicholsville Bridge.

The lights are currently flashing red on both sides of the structure, and Deer Lake superintendent Dave Thomas said they aren’t sure as of yet what the cause could be.

“It’s causing a lot of confusion down there right now and we’re advising people to proceed with caution in that area,” he said. “We are looking at it and we will have it fixed as soon as we can.”

Thomas said an electrician has inspected it and there could be a need to seek outside help from a company in Corner Brook.

The lights stopped working some time during the lunch hour. There is no estimation as of yet when it may be fixed.
