Natuashish RCMP threatened with axe

On March 18, at 11:30 am, Natuashish RCMP officers were requested to attend a residence in the community as a fight was in progress...  When investigators arrived on scene, they observed personal belongings along with a box spring and mattress apparently thrown out of the residence. An apparent victim approached the officers stating that she was assaulted by a person in the residence, and, he threw her items out of the residence. The officers entered the residence, just inside the front door. The suspect presented himself at the top of a small set of stairs in the split-level entry. The officers attempted to arrest him at which time the suspect reached around a corner and grabbed an axe. The axe was held above his head in an aggressive manner as he stated that he was not going with the officers. After repeated demands by police to drop the axe, the suspect complied and approached the officers at which time the suspect was arrested and physically restrained. The 22 year-old, the subject of two outstanding Undertakings before the Court, is being held for a Bail Hearing on a number of additional criminal charges
