Three snowmobilers made their way back to Hopedale this morning after spending the night taking shelter in a cabin to wait out bad weather.

The three were reported missing at 6:15 on Thursday, Jan. 31, when they failed to return to the community from their trip to gather wood in an area about 50 km away.

The three had left Hopedale at 10:30 a.m. The Hopedale Ground Search & Rescue Team was activated and a search was started.

The search was abandoned later in the evening due to poor ice conditions and the deteriorating weather and was to continue again at first light today.

At approximately 5:30 am this morning, all tjree returned to the community safely.
