Last Tuesday RCMP responded to a complaint of a fire at a residence on 16B Paddon Road, in Happy Valley Goose Bay.

Officers noted that the residence, a two apartment, one story complex, had been lit on fire and the siding had burnt up to the main floor windows.

The fire department attended and the fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

Further investigation revealed a person dressed in black was seen running from the scene at the time of the fire.

Both the Forensic Identification Unit and a Fire Investigator attended to process the scene and determined an accelerant had been used in this fire.

This Arson investigation is continuing.
