A Quebec man travelling on snowmobile in the Labrador wilderness was found safe after he had been reported missing to the RCMP on Monday evening.
The male left the community of North West River on Sunday morning and was headed for the community of Natuashish.
When relatives did not receive update on the males whereabouts they contacted the
Police say Search and Rescue teams from the community of Postville and Makkovik communities were dispatched to conduct a ground search covering the areas in and around the communities.
At 10:00 pm Monday evening, the man was located by SAR teams about 27 kilometers outside of Makkovik in an area called Burnt Lake. The snowmobile had run out of gas but the male was camped in a tent.
The snowmobiler reported to the RCMP that poor visibility and bad weather had affected his ability to follow the route.
