Tribute to Roy Orbison hits the road for debut tonight

St. John’s — A group of local performers known for all genres of music are touring the province with a tribute show to Roy Orbison.

Bob MacDonald, Steve Power, Sandy Morris, Scott Mansfield, Heather Kao, Janet Cull, Kim Wiseman and Brian Way are presenting “Only the Lonely — A Musical Tribute to Roy Orbison” at arts and culture centres across the province May 1-6.

Performed in two sets, the shows will cover the career of the legendary “Traveling Wilburys” musician, and offer a biographical element, facilitated by Way as host.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the day of each show (HST and fees included), and the tour will stop in Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, Stephenville, Labrador West and Corner Brook.

Additional shows (with varying prices) will be held at the O’Brien Arts Centre in Goose Bay May 4, the Clarenville Events Centre May 7, Princess Sheila NaGeira Theatre in Carbonear May 8 and Bonavista’s Garrick Theatre May 9.

    Why oh Why are they not doing a concert in St. John's? Its sounds like a great one to attend and I'm sure would do extremely well at the Holy Heart Venue, PLEASE consider. Have a great tour. Look forward to a response.
