Supreme Court Justice Robert Stack announced his decision  Wednesday to delay sentencing of former Happy Valley-Goose Bay teacher and librarian Mark Baxter White until he is able to review evidence related to the case.

As part of the police investigation photos and videos were seized.

Stack advised the court he needed to see the evidence against him before he could proceed.

In 2010 White was charged with Making and Distributing Child Pornography and Luring a Child. He later pleaded guilty to these charges. The Labrador School Board suspended him from his school position at that time.

The charges involved a teenage girl in the U.S.

On Tuesday, White appeared before Supreme Court Justice Robert Stack via videoconference from his current home in Corner Brook, NL.

He is scheduled to reappear before Justice Stack for sentencing on Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m.

Is Stack a pedofile? Why would he need to SEE the disgusting material before he can sentence the teacher who has already confessed and pleaded guilty? The sentence imposed should be the maximum allowed under the law as the teacher was in a position of authority. It was an abuse of power. Stack must be one twisted individual to want to see the stuff. Pedofiles often hide under the most respected positions of authority. I say based on his decision to review the material in detail before sentencing... it screams.....check out the judge! You might have another case on your hands.
