Once freight for Rigolet was unloaded, protester blocked off the entrance to ship at 10:26pm, RCMP were called and arrived on the scene at 10:54pm. The boat was delayed due to this.

Protesters discussed the situation with the RCMP, stating they we are fed up with the lack of support from the Provincial Government on getting a ferry service as soon as possible.

There is no passenger ferry service since Sept.3rd and the freight service is back loaded, freight is not arriving in community after being ships 3-5 weeks in advance.

The people of Rigolet deserve better than the Province has giving. The coastal communities are being affected by the lack of service and Minister Hedderson says there is nothing else they can do.

Rigolet will not accept the neglect of Labrador and it’s people. They need any ferry.

Where is the Labrador in Newfoundland and Labrador? This would be unacceptable on the Island part of the Province.
