On the wharves at the end of Mud Lake Road, dozens of people waited their turn on the sunny Saturday afternoon of Sept. 8 to hop into one of the small motorboats driven by volunteers and head to the small community of Mud Lake for their annual church fair.
The fair was a raving success with the signature bake sale sold out in minutes and turkey down to the bones just a couple hours after cold plate sales began.
The fair was a blend of activities for the young and old with some a little more competitive than others. The age-old log throw and target shooting brought out repeat players and the competition was fierce.
Younger kids had a chance to try out their putting skills on the community centre's lawn and the playground and barbecue were steadily busy. The canoe and rowing races drew a crowd to watch the antics from the community bridge above.
As always the fair included an auction and dance with the days proceeds going in support of the local church.
